Obama advises not to assume worst from Trump
The US president said that the rhetoric of the election campaign and the leadership of the country is not always the same one
"My main message to you ... and I send this message to Europe: do not only assume the worst," Obama said.
Obama tried to refute concerns, promising to provide a smooth transition of power and expressed optimism that the president-elect will move away from the provocative campaign rhetoric, when faced with the realities of the work.
"It's not always the same how the man leads the campaign, and how he then leads the country," Obama said.
Obama explained that he does not expect major changes in US foreign policy towards Latin America. In his opinion, the best way to protect American interests is to maintain good relations with neighboring states.
