Ukraine does not trade coal with the uncontrolled territories because coal is being transferred from extractive enterprises from ATO zone and we do not pay money to the self-proclaimed republics. This was reported by the Deputy Minister on ATO on air of one of the Ukrainian channels.

“There is no coal trade (with the uncontrolled territories) as it is. The coal is mainly used by two legal entities “Centrenergo” and “DTEK”. There are different mines on the uncontrolled territories; those which provide coal here belong to “DTEK” company,” Tuka said.

“The coal reaches processing plants, then goes to coal generation, and then becomes our heat or light," - he added.

Extractive enterprises located on uncontrolled territories of Donbas were reregistered on Ukraine-controlled territory, Tuka noted. If there is a need to deliver equipment or materials for repair works, everything is bought on the territory controlled by Ukraine and then it is being transferred through the demarcation line to the uncontrolled territory, which is previously being agreed on with security forces, the Security Service in particular.

Earlier it was reported that 92 miners evacuated from Zasyadko coal mine, according to the pro-Russian rebels. Over 200 miners were trapped underground after the explosion of the shell.
