The first unit of the British Armed Forces, which is a part of NATO international battalion, on Friday arrived in Estonia. At the Emary air base, 130 servicemen were met by the Minister of Defense of Estonia, Margus Tsakhkna.
It is expected that by the middle of April all the other members of the battalion battle group will arrive, as well as tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, self-propelled artillery units and other combat equipment.
The troops arrive in Estonia on the basis of the decisions of the Warsaw summit of NATO.
As stated the commander of the US Armed Forces in Europe, General Curtis Scaparotti, who visited Estonia on Tuesday, Estonia's units of NATO are "the answer to Russia's aggression in Crimea, Ukraine."
