The multinational battalion of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) headed by Canada officially began to work on the basis of the military base near Adazi in Latvia on June 19. Delfi reported this.

‘These forces convey a very clear message: NATO is united. These forces are just a part of the greater picture. NATO projects the combat units in Estonia, Lithuania and Poland. These battle groups serve for the common goal to protect the Alliance and hold back the aggression’, Stoltenberg said.

The international military exercise Summer Shield XIV took place at the Adazi proving ground in Latvia on April 17-30. More than 1200 soldiers took place in the event.
