Maidan was a success for those who were at the rostrum, and was a fail for those who stood in the square. This was stated at Hard Talk show on 112 Ukraine TV channel by the third president of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko.
"It seems to me that the Maidan, as a phenomenon is a significant event not only for my nation. I think it surprised the world, it surprised the Europe. It is such a polyphony of the nation that will always be highly appreciated. For me this is an example of the fact that we have become more socially responsible. We do understand what we want ", Yushchenko said.
At the same time, according to Yushchenko, Ukrainians are still "poorly structured ideologically."
"I think a large part of the political problems which my nation is facing now, is just not the leaders of the country but the visa of the nation itself. Of course, we are still poorly structured ideologically, we are still looking for some future path. Some say it should be the nationalist path, others say - European, others say - Russian, fourth - Soviet. Therefore, politically, we are still very different. But on the other hand, Maidan itself showed that we are able to take responsibility. Maidan was a success for those who were at the rostrum, and was a fail for those who stood in the square," added the third president of Ukraine.
