The leader of the political party "National Front", French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen said that in case of winning the election, she could abandon the euro and return to national currency, the BBC reported.

According to her, the eurozone countries should return to the system of the ECU currency basket, which existed in the EU before the introduction of the euro.

"ECU existed along with national currencies ... The existence of the national currency along with the common currency does not affect the daily lives of French people," Le Pen explained.

As it was reported to the BBC by the economic adviser of Le Pen, the conditions of return to the national currency, franc, will be thoroughly discussed in case of "National Front" victory in the elections.
