Japan has deployed Patriot anti-missile systems in the western and southwestern prefectures to prevent an attack from North Korea on the American island of Guam, AFP reports.

Anti-missile systems were deployed in Shimane and Hiroshima prefectures, on the main Japanese island of Honshu and in the Ehime and Kochi prefectures on the southwestern island of Shikoku.

In addition, according to the NHK television channel, a ship of Japan's maritime self-defense forces, equipped with Aegis combat information management system, appeared in the Sea of Japan.

As previously reported, Trump warned the DPRK leader of responsibility for threats against the US and its allies.

We recall, officials of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) issued a statement threatening the United States of America. The statement said that the US "will suffer a shameful defeat" and will be "finally destroyed" if they threaten North Korea.
