Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine claimed that Ukraine makes the first steps to be the member of NATO. He reported this during the meeting with Dalia Grybauskaite, the President of Lithuania. The 112 Ukraine broadcasted the meeting.
'We have a lot of work because the criteria to pretend the membership in NATO are too high. They are almost similar to EU-membership criteria', he noted.
Ukraine should implement the range of the reforms.
'Let's talk not about the formal side of the submission of the application but about the fact that Ukraine should do to reform the country to correspond the criteria of the membership. We did a lot and the appraisal of Madam President is pleasant to me.That we did more in 2-3 years that previously for 20 years. it is absolutely objective appraisal of our partners. But we have a lot of work to do and a lot of things should be done', Poroshenko emphasized.
