Mindia Gogochuri, a son in law of Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili was shot in Tbilisi, reports TV company Rustavi-2.

Gogochuri is a husband of the First Lady’s daughter Maki Chichua.

The victim was taken to the Center for emergency care of the Republican Hospital in Tbilisi.

The details of the incident are still unknown.

The scene is surrounded by the police. Internal Ministry of Georgia announced that the investigation under Articles 118, 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (intended bodily harm and illegal possession of weapons) has already started.

Gogochuri was called to the Prosecutor’s Office in July 2016 because of President’s appeal, in which he said that his family is being pressured, reports Georgia online daily. Then, the Prosecutor’s Office questioned President’s son in law and his friend Micheil Tatarashvili.

Earlier it was reported that Georgian court abolished punishment for marijuana consumption. A public campaign demanding the decriminalization of drugs became active in Georgia in recent years.
