The Special representative of Georgian government on relations with Russia David Zurab Abashidze assessed the visit to Sukhumi planned by Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as a “violation of Georgia's sovereignty”, reports TASS.

The future visit was also assessed by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia David Dzhalagania who called it “ignoring international principles and laws”.

“This is another obvious attempt to encroach on the sovereignty of Georgia,” Dzhalagania added.
