The General Prosecutor’s Office of Egypt made a statement on the prevention of two attempts to assassinate President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. This was announced by the Prosecutor General Nabil Sadek, "Elwatannews" edition reports.

The murder was allegedly planned by "two terrorist groups", one of them based in Saudi Arabia.

The murder was planned at the time of Alsisi's small pilgrimage to Mecca.

Criminals allegedly prepared an improvised explosive device, which was to explode in the hotel where the president could stay.

According to other information, a female suicide bomber was to kill the president.

Dozens of people were detained in the case, some have allegedly given confessions.
