President Francois Hollande will not face an impeachment process due to voting in the the National Assembly's Bureau, Le Figaro reports.

13 votes were given in favor of halting the impeachment call in its tracks by a cross-party steering committee, 8 votes were in favor of Hollande’s impeachment.

However, no immediate reaction from Elysee palace followed the decision.

The draft resolution was initiated by French Republican parliamentarian Pierre Lellouche, who called for the application of Article 68 of France's constitution that enables the national Assembly to impeach president, over alleged breach of security protocols by Hollande.
