French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault and Russian representative Sergey Lavrov exchanged views on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and agreed there is no alternative other than implementation of the Minsk agreements reached in Minsk (Belarus) in February 2015. This was stated by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the report, a telephone conversation between Lavrov and Ayrault took place on the initiative of the French side.

"There was an exchange of views on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, Ministers reaffirmed the indispensability of the full implementation of Minsk agreements," the report says.

The ministers also discussed the current situation in Syria.
