FBI confirmed it investigates possible Russian interference in US presidential elections
Also the bureau is investigating possible collusion between Russia and Trump's team.
The head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), James Comey confirmed that federal investigators are working on the case of possible Russian interference in the 2016 elections, as well as probable links between Moscow and the team members of the Donald Trump's campaign, the Independent reports.
Previously, the US media reported that the bureau was investigating a possible collusion between Russia and Trump's team.
Earlier in February, The New York Times wrote that members of the team of US President Donald Trump, who participated in the election campaign, have repeatedly contacted the Russian intelligence service a year before the elections in the United States.
The publication refers to the data received from the "four current and former US officials."
According to sources, the US intelligence services learned about the connection almost at the very time when they proved the involvement of the Kremlin in interfering in the presidential elections and hacking e-mails of the Democratic Party representatives.
