‘That (breaking the ties between Ukraine and Russia, - 112 International) will not happen, I guess, because there’s no point in initiating this break. If Russia initiated it that would change little, because currently, diplomatic offices of both countries do not function as they are supposed to – under the Vienna convention. These offices are merely an opportunity to restore these diplomatic relations,' Ukraine’s ex-Foreign Minister Kostyantyn Hryshchenko said in interview with 112 Ukraine TV channel.

Previously, Russian Prime Minister Dmitriy Medvedev surmised that Russia could initiate the break of diplomatic relations with Ukraine over the crisis in Crimea.
