The European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) supported the EU-Georgia visa-free regime. The committee’s press service reported that on Thursday.

The amendments concerning Georgia’s visa free status should be approved at a plenary session, most likely in February. After the Council of Ministers approves it, the bill will be signed and published in the EU’s official journal.

The EU-Georgia visa free regime will take effect along with the mechanism to postpone the visa-free regime – on the same day.
