The EU urged the warring sides in Syrian conflict to provide access to Aleppo where intensive military actions are underway. That was mentioned in the joint statement by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides.

The EU officials say one of convoys already reached the western part of the city. Water, medications and food are supposed to reach 130 thousand people. At the same time, trucks are supposed to get the wounded, children and women to safety. The EU representatives said they’d actively work to implement this plan in the coming days. Besides, the officials said the EU was ready to assign 25 million Euros for humanitarian needs in this area.
