Emirates plane bursts into flames on emergency landing at Dubai International Airport

Flight EK521 from India to Dubai exploded on the runway after making the emergency landing shortly after 12 p.m. Kyiv time.

An Emirates airline plane has made an emergency stop and crash-landed at Dubai Airport after reportedly catching fire in mid-air after 12 p.m. Kyiv time, according to CNN.

The Boeing 777 was carrying 282 passengers and 18 crew members from 20 different countries, according to the airline. None of the 300 people on board have been injured. Passengers have been evacuated promptly.

The airport traffic is halted due to black smoke billowing into the air.

Emirates is the region's biggest carrier. Dubai International is the Mideast's busiest airport, and is the world's busiest passenger air hub.
