In his interview with Ukraine’s ERA radio, the governor of Donetsk region condemned the idea of abandoning militant-occupied areas of Donbas (nv.ua). He also supported the call for re-claiming indigenous Ukrainian territories that currently belong to Russia. According to Pavlo Zhebrivsky, in the future, Ukraine will return Kursk, Bryansk, Voronezh, Rostov regions and Krasnodar territory – all of them adjacent or not far from the Ukrainian border. “This is where Ukraine’s essence and Ukrainian mentality are. And even thinking of sacrificing the occupied part of Donetsk and Luhansk regions is wrong”, he said.

Previously, Zhebrivsky advocated for returning the Russian province of Kuban to Ukraine, as Kuban, according to him, is also an indigenous Ukrainian territory.
