The bill restricting the possibility of Donald Trump’s administration to unilaterally lift sanctions against Russia was introduced in the U.S. Congress, according to the Financial Times.

As the message says, the document was submitted by two-party coalition of lawmakers to both chambers of US Congress for adoption.

"This is a serious issue of national security," Steny Hoyer, the congressman from the Democratic Party noted and expressed hope that both chambers of Congress will support establishing veto on possible Trump’s decision.

As it was noted, the mentioned bill provides that the White House will have to issue a report, which explains the reasons for lifting sanctions against Russia. After this, the 120-day period starts, during which the Congress may vote against these measures.

According to Marco Rubio, American Republican senator, many senators support this legislative initiative.
