Ex-Foreign Minister of Ukraine Konstantyn Gryshchenko commented the forthcoming visit of US Vice President Joseph Biden to Ukraine on the air of 112 Ukraine TV Channel.

"I think that, first of all, it will be a summing up meeting, as Joe Biden was personally involved in the issues regarding Ukrainian conflict and reforms. It's important for him to complete his tenure as Vice-President and to take these up. I hope he will also assure Ukraine in support, at least, from the Democrats in Congress after Trump officially becomes the President. I think that our leadership is unlikely to be interested in aggravating relations with the new administration... I think that this visit will not be announced publicly too widely, because it is not for the benefit of future relations with Trump’s administration, but we need to understand what Democrats can do in Congress in the future. It is very important because Biden will remain influential politician of the democratic camp", Gryshchenko said.

At the same time, according to Gryshchenko, Biden will not agree to take any official position in the Ukraine, if such offer appears.

"He still has something to do in the United States", said Gryshchenko.

It was reported that US Vice President Joseph Biden will visit Ukraine on January 15th.
