French foreign minister Jean-Marc Ayrault and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov will talk through deployment of UN peacekeepers in the war-torn eastern Ukraine.

Previously, Russian leader Vladimir Putin offered to look into such opportunity during the BRICS summit in China. According to him, brining UN peacekeepers to Donbas would help protect the OSCE observers who are now working there.

Russia already submitted the respective draft resolution for consideration in the UN Security Council, which gathers for a session next week. The Ukrainian side and personally President Petro Poroshenko will also speak on this issue during the session.
