Prosecutor's Office found debt of 6.1 billion UAH in defense budget

The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine found out that at the end of 2016 the debts of suppliers to the Ministry of Defense had tripled by 2.4 billion UAH. Thus, it reached a record amount - more than 6.1 billion UAH, writes DT.UA.

The relevant data was published in a letter of Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko to Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, sent to the Cabinet of Ministers in mid-July.

It is noted that the amount of debt is 11% of annual funding. At the same time, overdue debts amount reached 755 million UAH.

Regarding the enterprises of Ukroboronprom concern, its debt to the Ministry of Defense amounted to 1.6 billion hryvnia, and overdue debts reached 335 million hryvnia.

As reported, according to the results of inspections at the enterprises of Ukroboronprom concern, 25 executives were suspended from their duties.
