The former owners of Ukraine’s Privatbank did not act under their liabilities in time; they failed to perform free-will loan restructuring until the designated date, which was July 1. The press service of NBU, the National Bank of Ukraine reported that on Monday morning.

‘The period of the free-will loan restructuring ended on July 1. Now we can say for sure that former owners of PrivatBank failed to act according to their duty,’ the NBU said, noticing that exaction is due to take place.

Recently, Oleksandr Shlapak, Privatbank's Board Chairman announced his resignation.

Back in December 2016, ex-owners of Privatbank, one of the major banks in Ukraine, asked the government to purchase the bank’s actions, thus making this financial entity property of the state.
