Peskov: US sanctions against Russia hurt world economy
Russian energy sector is very powerful system with a margin of safety
Adding to the US Senate a bill on additional sanctions against the Russian Federation will hurt the global economy. This was stated by Vladimir Putin's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov on January 11, RIA Novosti reports.
"Of course, this kind of restriction causes additional damage, not only to bilateral relations, but also in terms of the global economy and the global energy market," said Peskov.
According to the President's Press Secretary, over the past two years the Russian energy sector proved that "it is very flexible and very strong system with a fair margin of safety".
"Therefore, there is no doubt that the system itself, this sector of the economy itself will find the appropriate compensatory measures in order to minimize any potential damage from such actions, if they are implemented," said Peskov.
He also hopes that they will look at the situation with the sanctions with a "more sober and sensible" way.
