Odessa Port Plant decided to temporarily suspend production. It was reported by the press service of the company.

“Due to the high price of natural gas supplied by Naftogaz Ukraine which is not in line with the prices of the plant’s products on the global market and taking into account the impossibility of supplying natural gas by Naftogaz Ukraine in 2017 until the current debt is paid, it was decided to temporarily halt production and the plant’s workshops,” the plant said on its website.

The press service also reported that presently the plant’s managers in coordination with the State Property Fund (SPF) are looking for companies interested in leasing the whole property complex of the plant for a long period.

Earlier Head of Odesa Port-Side Plant Valeriy Horbatko resigned from the post.

It is noteworthy that State Property Fund of Ukraine assumed possibility of Odessa Port Plant shutdown if SPF would not find a solution to minimize losses of the plant.
