The parliamentary immunity is a feudal post-Soviet rudiment said on the sidelines Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

“I was thinking, why if an ordinary Ukrainian is charged of non-payment of taxes he is brought to court, and if a deputy is charged for non-payment of taxes, one must necessarily go to a special committee, which for some reason believes that it should determine the guilt. Then it is taken to the Verkhovna Rada session. The only positive thing in this is that in majority of cases, both the committee and Parliament gave the permission. This shows that the status of immunity is long ago overdue. This is a feudal post-Soviet rudiment. All these campaigns take time both of the deputies, and mine,” he said.
