The salary raise in Ukraine will be possible thanks to the unshadowing of the Ukrainian economy. That’s the move that the Ukrainian government has been working on for months. Volodymyr Groysman, the Prime Minister, said this while on air with 112 Ukraine TV channel.

‘The first step we’ve got to make is the salary raise. Since January 1, 2017, every employee should be getting at least UAH 3,200 (USD 125). And how would we do that? We’re going to unshadow the naotional economy. This is the move we’ve been planning for many months,’ he said.

Groysman added that currently, at least half of the Ukraine’s economy is ‘in shadows.’

‘A lot of resources are now in shadows. But they should be used for the needs of social payments and paying taxes. I guess it is absolutely unacceptable when an entrepreneur makes money and those who work for him live in poverty,’ he said.
