The country lost four positions compared to the last year’s index

Ukraine has lost a few positions in the Index of Economic Freedom, which is published annually by the Heritage Foundation research centre.

Hong Kong, Singapore and New Zealand lead the way in this year's index.

Last year, the country was ranked 162nd ; this year, it came 166th of 180 countries. It was also mentioned as the country with repressed economy.

Russia, on the other hand, has improved its ranking (153rd in 2016; 114th in 2017).
