Maria Prymachenko’s paintings inspire many people in Ukraine and abroad. Once upon a time, students of the Russian State Institute of Cinema created a short-length cartoon “Svyato” (Ukrainian for “holiday”).
The cartoon was based on characters and locations featured in the painter’s works. Ukrainian folk tunes and songs also strongly contributed to the inimitable atmosphere of Prymachenko’s pictures. The cartoon depicts rich folk traditions of the Ukrainian nation.
