Furman won the prestigious international festival, leaving behind over 150 candidates from about 50 countries.
The Ukrainian received the Grand Prix of the contest for his photos collection project dubbed “Life After Injury”. The works reveal peculiarities of physical and psychological rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers, who were wounded during military actions in eastern Ukraine.
‘I can’t even begin to find proper words how happy I am to be the main prize holder in this contest. But that’s not about me. These young people sacrificed their health to protect Ukraine from the Russian aggression,’ Olexiy Furman posted at Facebook.
