The work of 58 Russian channels is limited in Ukraine so as to ensure information security. Yuriy Artemenko, the chairman of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting announced this during a press conference.

“The country’s information security is one of the top priorities of the Information Policy Ministry. Thus, we have restricted the work of 58 Russian channels in Ukraine. But I am sure that we also have to create more of our own TV channels. We are observing a positive trend these days: many licenses come to us to start the analogues of Russian programs in Ukraine”, he said.
