He “served” in illegal forces as a minor, now he faces 8 years of imprisonment

Volnovakha police officers detained a member of the Oplot illegal armed group who was recruited as a minor. This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Donetsk region.

The report said that the resident of Volnovakha was studying in rehabilitation lyceum of Makiivka at the beginning of the occupation of the region. Friends of the teenager suggested earning money by joining the ranks of Oplot illegal armed group.

Rookie joined the militants in June 2014. He "served" at checkpoints near the occupied Makiivka, where he conducted illegal inspection of vehicles, citizens and was engaged in guards.

In September 2014 the boy left the ranks of the armed group and moved to Mariupol to avoid punishment for their crimes.

"Law enforcement officers of Volnovakha gathered necessary evidence of his involvement in illegal armed group and detained him in Mariupol", the press service reports.

Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 2 Article 260 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (creation of illegal armed groups or participation in their activities). Sanction of the article provides imprisonment up to 8 years.

Earlier it was reported that the court sentenced “LPR” militant for three years of imprisonment. In July 2014, when Ukrainian Army liberated Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk, he was fighting against it.
