Vehicle which hit Armed Forces Sergeant was stopped in Luhask region

Sergeant was injured as a result of road accident

A vehicle drove into checkpoint near Shchastya in Luhansk region in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) zone. A sergeant of Ukrainian Armed Forces got injured as a result of this road accident. This was reported by ATO HQ press service on Facebook.

"Today, March 19, military officers used weapons against VAZ 2115 vehicle on one of the checkpoint in the ATO zone not far from Shchastya in Luhansk region while serving. The driver did not stop upon request and tried to cross the checkpoint without verification," the press service noted.

It is informed that the vehicle has hit sergeant while trying to get through the checkpoint, military officer travelled on the bonnet for about 5 meters. Having fallen from the car, sergeant fired a warning shot. The vehicle did not stop and continued driving, soldiers opened fire.

The car got 6 gunshot holes. The driver which appeared to be a Shchastya resident was not hurt. Sergeant was injured as a result of road accident.

An operative group of commandants’ office from Shchastya is working at the scene.
