In the morning on August 18, a militant sniper in Zaitseve shot at the car of the monitoring group from the Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (the JCCC), as the Ukrainian Army HQ inform on Facebook.

It is noted, that the JCCC group came to the town in order to record the damage to buildings after yesterday’s attacks.

“The monitors left the site of the attack intact,” the HQ wrote.

According to the message, the Ukrainian side of the JCCC condemns the militant attacks on civilian settlements, as it puts civilian lives and health under threat.

“Such actions of the militant commanders proves their interest in further escalation of the conflict, demonstrates their unwillingness to adhere to the cease-fire, and their conscious non-compliance with the Minsk agreements,” the message says.

As it was reported earlier, militants attacked living blocks in Zaitseve, while the Red Cross representatives were giving out aid to local civilians.
