The SBU, Ukraine’s Security Service, discovered a large number of crimes in Donbas, which, in particular, include economic crimes. According to Tandyt who gave an interview to 112 Ukraine TV channel, Russia-backed militants attempted to bring chemicals to Lysychansk district, Luhansk region (the town is currently under control of Ukrainian forces). Due to that, the state treasury lost about 240 million hryvnas (approximately 9 million U.S. dollars). “The SBU detained the criminals; a criminal case was opened. In Donetsk region, local officials were detained as suspects in stealing another 6 milllion hryvnas (some 200 thousand U.S. dollars)”, Tandyt said.
