“Since the war started, about 8,000 of our wounded servicemen have been treated, and that’s only in the Defense Ministry’s hospitals. Most of them, thanks to selfless work of doctors, are either back in line or returned to full-fledged civilian life. Their families bow to you, appreciating your virile mind, your gifted hands and big hearts. I join these people and thank you, most honored doctors, for your hard work”, the President said while turning to Ukrainian medics on the occasion of the Medic’s Day in Ukraine.
“Unfortunately, we lost 35 combat medics who performed beyond and above their duty, saving lives of their comrades. One of them, medic of the 3rd Bn of the 80th Detached Airborne Brigade, Corporal Serhiy Zinych, was awarded the Hero of Ukraine title – posthumously, as much as it hurts”, Poroshenko stressed.
