The Russian Foreign Ministry is preparing for a new meeting of foreign ministers in Normandy format that will take place in Minsk on November 29. This is reported in the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"Taking into account the existing agreements of the Normandy Quartet leaders at the summit in Berlin on October 19, 2016, and the corresponding invitation that came from Germany and France, the Russian Foreign Ministry is preparing for a new meeting of foreign ministers in Normandy format that will take place in Minsk on November 29. We regard it as a continuation of the joint practical work to achieve a peaceful settlement of the conflict and giving it additional impetus," reads the statement.
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the meeting was intended to support the efforts not only on security, humanitarian and economic problems, but also to promote political reform package.
Earlier, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier confirmed that France and Germany are preparing a meeting of Ministers of Normandy Quartet in Minsk on November 29.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin announced the same date, but Russia doubted the feasibility of the talks until this moment.
