Russia brings S-400 missile systems to Crimea

The complex is in service in Sevastopol-Feodosia anti-aircraft missile regiment since 2016

Anti-aircraft missile regiment of Southern military city district will be on combat duty in Crimea. It will be armed with S-400 “Triumph” missile launchers. This was reported by TASS, referring to the press service of Southern military city district of the Defense Ministry of Russian Federation.

“A ceremony on taking up combat duty of command post and S-400 "Triumph " unit will be held on January 14 in the anti-aircraft missile regiment of Air Force 4th Army and Air Defense of the Southern military district, stationed in Crimea,” the message stated.

Modern S-400 missile systems were added to the weaponry of Sevastopol-Feodosia anti-aircraft missile regiment in 2016. The staff of the regiment has successfully passed retraining and exercises on rockets launching took place in frameworks of “Caucuses-2016” in August last year.

Earlier it was reported that Russia brought S-400 Triumph missile launcher to Crimea. The weapon is capable of hitting aircraft and cruise missiles within 400-kilometer range.
