Before the elections in Russia, the leadership of this country will try to aggravate the situation in Ukraine, in particular, in the occupied territory of Donbas. This was stated in an exclusive interview to Ukrinform by the chairman of the Donetsk Regional Administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky.

"Obviously, Putin is not going to let Ukraine go, he does not need either part of Donbas or Luhansk, or the entire Donbas. Putin wants all of Ukraine. I spent a lot of time analyzing and thinking - why Putin and Russia need Ukraine? They have more than enough. They have so much they can't make order in it. And having analyzed the historical aspects as well, I realized for myself that for the Russian empire it is not possible to exist without the human resource of Ukraine. Without the human intellectual resource from Ukraine the Russian empire will perish. That's the reason for such a struggle", Zhebrivsky said.

He also noted that Russia does not have the strength for a large-scale offensive. "Our Armed Forces, the National Guard, other law enforcement agencies have already shown that they wouldn't just watch the offensive", he added.
