President Petro Poroshenko urged Russia to ensure the cease-fire in Donbas on holidays, as well as perform other "Minsk obligations". Poroshenko said this on Facebook.

"I call on Russia to ensure strict observance of the ceasefire and the implementation of other agreements, in particular with respect to the immediate release of the hostages and illegally detained persons, including the ones on the Russian territory," Poroshenko said.

Poroshenko also expressed hope that the "silence regime" in Donbas will have continuing nature. In addition, president confirmed Ukraine’s readiness to carry out this and other Minsk agreements.

As it was reported, on December 21 the Trilateral contact group on the situation in the east of Ukraine called for a complete ceasefire from 12 midnight on December 24 in Donbas.
