OSCE SMM reports increase of military activity in Donbas

More attacks in Avdiivka, Yasynuvata, Svotlodarsk and northeastern suburbs of Mariupol

Observers of the OSCE SMM in Donbas registered an increase of military activity in certain areas of Donetsk region – Avdiivka, Yasynuvata, Svotlodarsk and northeastern suburbs of Mariupol. The OSCE report was released in the evening of October 27.

‘The SMM recorded more ceasefire violations in Donetsk region compared with the previous reporting period, mostly in areas around Avdiivka-Yasynuvata and Svitlodarsk, as well as east and north-east of Mariupol. In Luhansk region, the SMM noted an increase in the number of recorded ceasefire violations, mostly in areas around the Zolote-Pervomaisk disengagement area. The Mission followed up on reports of civilian and non-civilian casualties in Oleksandrivka and Stanytsia Luhanska,’ the report says. 

Besides, members of the SMM spotted large lines of civilians coming and leaving the combat area through checkpoints on both sides of the division line.
