The recent escalation of military conflict in Avdiivka should become an impetus for European countries to show a united approach to the ongoing hostilities in Donbas. Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius said this during his commentary for media.

‘The situation remains quite unpredicted, because there is a huge amassment of heavy weaponry near the Ukrainian border. Frankly speaking, something like Avdiivka could happen again in any place any time. That’s why we need the consolidated stance of all European states,’ Linkevicius said.

Earlier today, Donetsk governor Pavlo Zhebrivsky said that the security situation in Avdiivka improved to some extent; however, the Defense Ministry reports that the massive mortar and artillery strikes on Avdiivka continue, although they are not so intense compared to that of the last week.
