IMF postponed its meeting in connection with Donbas blockade

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine is planning consultations with the IMF in the near future

The International Monetary Fund has postponed the consideration of the allocation of of $ 1 billion tranche to Ukraine in connection with the transport blockade of Donbas. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

It is reported that the IMF Board of Directors postponed for a short time the scheduled for March 20 consideration of the issue of the completion of Extended Finance Program third revision for Ukraine. The reasons for such decision are the need to clarify the calculation of the economic consequences of measures taken by Ukraine in response to the blockade and seizure of enterprises in the occupied Donbas, as well as in connection with the recognition the "documents" issued in these territories by the Russian side.

"The clarification of these calculations is important for both sides for the sake of maximum effectiveness of the program, and relevant consultations have already been started, and we plan to complete them as soon as possible," said Finance Minister Oleksandr Danilyuk.
