Militants of the self-proclaimed ‘DPR’ do not agree to leave Debaltsevo, the major transport hub in Donetsk region. This was stated by head of ‘DPR’ delegation, Denis Pushilin, during the Minsk talks.
‘As for the town, which is permanently speculated on by Ukrainian side, Debaltsevo… it is our city, and the leaders of ‘Donetsk People's Republic’ will never make any decisions that harm its citizens’, he said.
Pushilin believes it is premature to discuss new areas of separation of forces and resources near the front line in Donbas.
Previously, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said Debaltsevo must become one of the four areas of disarmament in the near future.
On the other hand, press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, stated that the Kremlin stands against the return of Debaltsevo under control of Ukraine.
