The Ukrainian frontline remains calm, stated ATO spokesman Andriy Lysenko. For the first time this year Russian-backed militants have not violated the ceasefire in Donbas. The hostile unmanned aerial vehicles were not observed over the eastern Ukraine territories too. "Now we may talk about the implementation of the first paragraph of the Minsk agreements," said Lysenko.
According to the Ukrainian special services, in some frontline areas the Russian-backed militants launch a demonstrative withdrawal of heavy weapons, simulating following the Minsk agreements. Meanwhile, significant volume of the hostile forces are gathered across the contact line. Russian soldiers and equipment still remain near in the east of Ukraine. He also said that 30 thousand Russian troops and 10 thousand militants stay in the occupied part of Donbas.
Donbas remains a very dangerous region though. Yesterday morning two Ukrainian soldiers were killed and four were wounded after being blown up by a mine near Troitske, Luhansk region. ATO spokesman emphasized on the importance of the immediate launching of the demining operation.
