The new 60 mm mortars (‘Tuning forks’, as the military named them) are one of the first Ukraine-made weapons that were developed according to the respective NATO technical standards (Interfax-Ukraine). According to Olexandr Peregudov, the director of Mayak arms factory (part of Ukroboronprom enterprise), the serial production of the new weapons is to begin by the end of this year.

Peregudov added that the Tuning Fork fires brand new 60 mm ground blast fragmentation mines, which now undergo series of tests. According to the official, the new mortar and the mines are made of solely domestic materials.
