Yatsenyuk about Russia

1)      “As far as I understand, Russia has got one more good for export. Aside from exporting oil and gas to Ukraine, Russia has exported terrorism to Ukraine. And there is only one country on the earth, which refuses to see that Russian subversive groups do commit terrorist acts on the Ukrainian territories. And this country is Russia.” (April, 16, 2014)

2)      “All the responsibility on aggression on the Ukraine’s territory, undermining international stability and safety is put on Russian authorities. This country violates the UN statute, as well as our bilateral obligations; it comes as a heavily armed gangster. But the time is near when this gangster is kicked out.” (April 25, 2014)

3)      “We remember how USSR invaded Germany, and how it invades Ukraine. It just cannot happen. And no one has a right to “rewrite” the results of World War Two, and Russian president is trying to do it.” (January 8, 2015)

4)      State border of Ukraine is being constructed and it will be constructed. Those who are against of improvement of Ukrainian border line, might get one-way ticket from us in order to reach the country on the opposite side of the border.” (February 19, 2015)

5)      Putin just has no other choice. If he states that Russia goes away from Donbas, it will be his political death within his country. If he continues his invasion of Ukraine, it will be a political death in the whole world.

Yatsenyuk about sanctions

1)      “Ukraine to impose sanctions against each individual that has Russian passport and that supports terrorists and separatists in Ukraine.” (July 23, 2014)

2)      “The idea of sanctions is to bring Russia back to the negotiations. Russia must pay the price, because it has committed the international crime. I often hear about finding way to save Putin’s face. It sounds good if he really has a face. But if it is a mask, cynical mask, it would be difficult.” (January 8, 2015)

3)      “We are saving the country, because we make Russia follow Minsk agreements. If the EU sends different signals to Putin, for example, about lifting the sanctions, this will be the wrong way to talk with him. Sanctions can be lifted only if the territory of Luhansk, Donetsk, and Crimea are back to Ukraine.” (September 12, 2015)

4)      “Our answer is that Ukraine is out of free trade zone with Russia, we are rising duties on all the Russian goods, machinery and car building. We act in response. These were not we who started this war. But the aggressor to be punished.” (January 4, 2016)

5)      “The government lauds the decision on expanding list of those Russian goods, which previously were forbidden on the territory of Ukraine. These are our counter-measures to economical Russian aggression… We wish them all the best, let Russia sell its products at the inner market.” (January 20, 2016)

Yatsenyuk about coalition

1)      “What can the Government do? As we have parliamentary-presidential republic, our first variant is: the coalition has fallen apart, prime minister starts the procedure of forming the new coalition. What does it mean? Prime Minister has to include communists and “regionals” into the coalition. Under no circumstances will I do it. There is the second variant: in case if there is no new coalition, and the current one has fallen apart, the Government and the prime minister must resign. I state about the resignation in terms of disporting of the coalition and blocking the governmental initiatives.” (July 24, 2014)

2)      “It is just impossible that prime minister in a parliamentary-presidential republic, where the government and the coalition is not the same, gets the information about disporting of the coalition from the media. This is not right, because we are partners.” (July 26, 2014)

3)      “People’s Front Party has taken the first place and has started coalition. The text of coalitional agreement has 2.5 pages. But there are also 36 laws that need to be adopted till the end of the year. I propose to name the coalition “European Ukraine… I want to announce the forming of a transparent coalition. President of Ukraine will support my choice; I would not betray my principles. If not – let someone else form the coalition. I propose  to use the same principle as of forming the European Commission… No quotas, no couloir talks.” (October 29, 2014)

4)      “Can the party, leader of which has been betrayed, stay in the coalition? I do respect democracy, and if the parliament is ready to express no confidence in the Government, these are its constitutional rights. President can introduce the resolution of distrust. I will take every decision of the Ukrainian parliament.” (November 20, 2015)

5)      “We have listened not to the conversation on the reforms, it was an act of hatefulness. I see a common political calculation here. For this the government must resign, the president must agree for the early elections, the result of which is predictable – they will end with devastation. I have asked the parliament to consider the question of resignation of the Cabinet. Thus, the government is legitimate and might continue its work.” (February 28, 2016)

Yatsenyuk about hryvnia

“We have faced two challenges. The first one is the war, which destroys the economy. The second is economy. I believe that the National Bank will fulfill its functions. We need to stop the panic and speculations. When the importers and exporters with the help of banks bought for 15 and sold for 20. Bought for 20 and brought it back for 25. Now they are waiting for 35… today the exchange rate is 29, and in Wednesday it was 37.” (February 27, 2015)

Yatsenyuk about Tymoshenko

“Dear Yulia, I understand that you told that the price for gas will be $150 in the fourth quarter. Am I right? And if it is not $150, I may make a special request to you in order to compensate the difference in the state budget.” (June 5,  2015)

Yatsenyuk about Crimea

“There is no quick decision on Crimea. We do not have a geopolitical answer on the question how to take Crimea back. The main issue is that no one admits the annexation of Crimea. Crimea is Ukraine, it remains our territory. God helps us, He might help us to return Crimea. If not, our children and grandchildren will do it. But we will return Crimea.” (December 30, 2014)
