In October 2016 we mark six months from the appointment of 38-year-old Volodymyr Groysman to the post of Ukrainian Prime Minister. He became the youngest head of government in the country's history. During these six months, he showed himself in different ways; we will not assess the achievements of his Cabinet, but offer to recall his statements that caused loud applause, and laughter, and even condemnation.
Let's start from the beginning. On April 14, 2016 before the voting for his appointment in Parliament MPs began to scream "Shame!", to which Groysman replied:
The next day after the appointment new PM lectured in Parliament the Deputy Minister of Health Olexander Pavlenko. The prime minister did not like how the deputy minister answered to one of MPs regarding the supply of medicines for children with cancer. Groysman answered to him sharply.
In May, PM pointed out to Transcarpathian region governor Gennadiy Moskal that he would not speak in the language of ultimatums. Then Moskal wrote an open letter to the President asking to submit his dismissal from the post because of the situation with "cigarette mafia" in the region.
In May, the prime minister was especially critical. He said he would fight the corruption schemes on export of Ukrainian nuts, which has taken root under the name "nut mafia".
In couple of days after this statement Prime Minister has criticized fiscals who demand bribes from businessmen.
After the arrest of the Chief Sanitary Inspector of Ukraine Svyatoslav Protas, Groysman appealed to all officials with a warning.
Groysman loves to talk about the populists. In many of his speeches, he urged people not to believe the populist statements.
In early September, during the hearings in Parliament, Prime Minister harshly reacted to the words of Deputy Prime Minister Gennadiy Zubko: "I have nothing to do with this", when Groysman called him to inform the deputies about the actions carried out with respect to elimination of fire at one of the of terricones.
Groysman likes to lecture MPs. During the meeting with mayors he forbade the Mayor of Mykolaiv to text via mobile phone during a conference call.
When they began to criticize the state budget for 2017, Groysman stated about the "discussion on Pokemon show."
We are confident that for the one-year anniversary of Groysman's premiership our quote pad will be significantly replenished.
