Decorating the world in Ukrainian style
How Ukrainians express to the world their pride and belonging to the homeland
Paradoxically, but obtaining the love for the mother tongue, native traditions and pride for the homeland was not so quick and easy process for Ukrainians. People could show their country on the map and explain what is the official language, emblem and anthem, but only a few of them felt a sense of affection for their land, its national and cultural symbols. But gradually the attitude changed and finally, after the revolution of dignity majority of Ukrainians feel themselves part of their homeland. Pride for motherland has led to the fact that many Ukrainians, earlier speaking exclusively in Russian, consciously switched to Ukrainian. But that's not the all signs of new Ukrainian world.
The trend for patriotic tattoos started - with national patterns, coat of arms or other symbols that allow asserting unequivocally that the original owner of the tattoo is somehow related to Ukraine. Tattoo masters even faced with the problem of sketches, which they simply did not have. They recall, at first time they had to ask colleagues to share sketches with Ukrainian embroidery ornaments.
In the first years after gaining independence many residents of Ukraine considered that the Ukrainian national costume is only suitable to be a souvenir for tourists or to be dressed for performances in folk style. Later people in embroidered shirts (Ukrainian vyshyvankas) began to appear on the country's streets during major public holidays. And now it is possible to meet Ukrainians, who are willing to wear a vivid national style clothes on a daily basis, and fashion magazines excitedly recommend these clothing sets.
In such patriotic traditions they want bring up children. Look, the world-famous Barbie doll also got authentic local outfit.
Decorating the world around you
After changing clothing style the country's citizens recalled that their cars exterior also needs to be improved. Ukrainian embroidery ornaments became the most popular decoration.
As well as their offices and apartments interiors, which immediately got a new stylistic accent.
Also Ukrainian design perfectly fits the style of the city streets.
And now the Ukrainian symbolics is triumphantly marching on the city, causing the interest and admiration of passers.
Now is the time when the Ukrainian symbolics finally taken root on its land and in hearts of people. It encourages, gives Ukrainians faith in them as a nation, adds confidence. It is also one more thing that unites them all, making stronger.
